About Jabalpur

The city of Jabalpur is situated in the state of Madhya Predesh in India, almost in the Geographical centre of the country.

            The city is connected with the metropolitan cities in west to Mumbai in east to Kolkata in north to Delhi in south to Chennai by rail & Road. The National highway No. 7 intersecting Jabalpur connected Nagpur & Banaras and National highway No. 12 connects the pink city Jaipur. The Townis connected by air to Bhopal & Delhi.

            Jabalpur is situated between 22o 48’ & 24o 8’ north latitudes 78o 28’ & 80o 58’ east latitudes. Jabalpur is about 383 m above mean sea lavel. The weather is tropical having summer with 46oc at the highest temperature in the month of May & winter having 4oc lowest temperature in the month of Dec. The rainy season continues from June to Sep. having 1386 mm average rainfall.

            The area of Jabalpur city is 133.97 Sq Km. With a population of 12 Lacs. Excluding the cantonment and adjoining 52 Villages. The city is divided in to 60 ward managed by 8 Administrative Zone. The annual budget outlay for the year 2005 – 2006 is 14311 Lacs. Jabalpur is one of oldest Municipal council in the year 1951.
